Mission of WRRA:
Western Reserve Rowing Association provides and promotes adult competitive and recreational rowing for the Northeast Ohio community through quality programming.
Primary Purpose of Committee:
Increase and expand the scope of adult rowing in Northeast Ohio through the research and implementation of specific targeted programs, including but not limited to: Adaptive Rowing, Corporate Rowing and Row for the Cure.
Scope – Responsible for:
1) Research need and financial and operational possibility of the targeted programs.
2) Create program proposals for WRRA Board decision at completion of research phase.
3) Implement targeted program once approved by WRRA Board.
Goals – For 2011:
1) Complete research phase for targeted programs.
2) Create program proposal/recommendation for WRRA Board for implementation in the 2011 or 2012 rowing season (dependant on reasonability).
3) Strive to increase the profile of adult rowing in the local sports community, raise awareness and enhance visibility of rowing and WRRA, and increase inclusion among all types of CLE athletes.
Authority – Specifically Authorized to:
1) Create subcommittees (working groups) for target programs to perform research and create recommendations.
2) Create WRRA Board proposals for targeted programs.
3) Create an implementation plan for targeted programs following Board approval.
