WESTERN RESERVE ROWING ASSOCIATION

EQUIPMENT COMMITTEE COVER SHEET – 2013

Mission of WRRA:    WRRA provides and promotes adult competitive and recreational rowing for the Northeast Ohio community through quality programming.

Primary Purpose of Committee:

To provide WRRA board with support on the oversight and management of equipment issues: shells, oars, launches, cox boxes, all repair supplies, all tools, tents, locks, lockers, and all other equipment that supports the adult rowing programs.

Scope – Responsible for: 

1. Develop & implement policies & procedures to ensure quality equipment care
2. Plan, develop and implement equipment capital expenditure budget, including the basic  assumptions, methods, and timing
3. Plan, develop & implement all efforts and methods required to ensure quality equipment repair, including the hiring and supervision of the part-time Equipment Manager
4. Communicate annually to the full membership the proper care & feeding of our equipment

Goals – For 2013: 

1. Develop & implement the Equipment Acquisition/Rotation/Disposition Plan of WRRA
2. Hire a part-time Equipment Manager, charged with the weekly full fleet inspection of all equipment
3. Create the weekly full-fleet-inspection system, including the review of by-session equipment reports by each coach and each cox
4. Create the 2013 Capital Budget for equipment

Authority – Specifically  Authorized  to:

1. To create the job description of the part-time Equipment Manager
2. To implement the annual capital budget as approved by the board
3. To implement the Equipment Acquisition/Rotation/Disposition Plan
4. To supervise the part-time Equipment Manager
