Our Fundraising Mission

Western Reserve Rowing Association provides and promotes adult competitive and recreational rowing for the Northeast Ohio community through quality programming.

Why we ask for contributions

WRRA runs a variety of programs that serve more than 500 adult rowers and competes in local, regional and national regattas.

WRRA pays for programs, program manager, coaching, training, and equipment, including boats that range in cost from $8,000 for a single scull to over $38,000 for an eight-oared racing shell. In addition to boats, and related equipment such as riggers, oars, and coxswain speaker systems (cox boxes), WRRA provides launches and motors needed for coaching on the water, and a trailer for transporting boats to regattas.

To complete its mission, WRRA relies on volunteers and contributors. Dues and fees alone are not sufficient to cover the cost of the programs. Boats have been generously donated or funded by donors within the WRRA community or Cleveland community members.

2018 Rowing Season - Veterans/Pararowing/Adaptive Programs & Equipment Fundraiser

Over the summer we hosted a Veterans Learn to Row day and Pararowing Learn to Scull sessions. Both of these events were successful and sparked excitement in the CLE community. Building off this excitement, we are asking for support to kick off the new 2018 Military/Veterans Sweeps and Sculling rowing programs, and to continue the Adaptive rowing program expansion.

Your contributions will go towards the specialized equipment, coaching, and training needed to start the new programs and continue existing adaptive programs. THANK YOU!
