Guest Rower Policy

WRRA GUEST ROWER POLICY

WRRA Member Guest Rows

Guest Rows are allowed in programs in which a member is not currently enrolled and has not participated in the past five years.  (three?)

 

  1. With the intention of joining a program, members may have three (3) guest rows in total per year among programs.

  2. Programs include Summer Rowing League, Fall Rowing League, Intermediate and Masters.

  3. Opportunities for guest rows are contingent on space, coaching and equipment availability.

  4. All safety rules outlined in the Cleveland Rowing Foundation Safety Manuel must be followed in addition to any regulations passed by WRRA.

  5. A coach may request up to three (3) guest rows to evaluate a potential program participant.

  6. All requests and approvals for guest rows will be made through and at the discretion of the WRRA Program Director at programdirector@westernreserverowing.com

WRRA has no responsibility to provide for guest rows.   Guest Rows are contingent on available

resources as determined by the Program Director.

 

Non WRRA Member Guest Rows

Experienced rowers who are not members of WRRA are eligible to request guest rows with WRRA. 

A Guest Rower:

  1. Must have 3 years of rowing experience.

  2. Be sponsored by a WRRA member with an SQL or higher safety qualification.

  3. May request a sponsor be assigned if one is not already known.

  4. Must sign all WRRA / CRF / USRowing waivers as well as a swimming ability waiver.

  5. Must receive the SQL-0 Basic Safety briefing from the sponsor.

  6. All requests and approvals for guest rows will be made through and at the discretion of the WRRA Program Director at programdirector@westernreserverowing.com

A Sponsor:

  1. Must ensure compliance with the CRF Safety Manual, and as regards SQL status for small and large boats, Section III.A.3 “Guest Rowers”.

WRRA has no responsibility to provide for guest rows.  Non WRRA Member Guest Rows are

contingent on available resources as determined by the Program Director.

Greater than three (3) guest rows for visitors will require registration and payment of abbreviated fees.  Participation in excess of two (2) weeks requires these fees as well as a facilities assessment.
