Western Reserve Rowing
About Us
Mission Statement
Western Reserve Rowing Association provides and promotes adult competitive and recreational rowing for the Northeast Ohio community through quality programming.
We have programs that will fit just about every type of rower -- new to the sport or an old pro, sweep or scull, just for fun or out for blood, and everything in between. Explore the site and find out about the specific programs WRRA currently offers.
Who we are
The Western Reserve Rowing Association (WRRA) is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization with a vibrant community of more than 500 members. Dedicated to promoting the sport of rowing in Northeast Ohio, WRRA provides opportunities for rowers of all experience levels—from novices to competitive athletes—to learn, train, and enjoy the lifelong benefits of the sport.
WRRA is affiliated with the Cleveland Rowing Foundation (CRF), which owns and operates the Rivergate Park Boathouse on the banks of the Cuyahoga River. From this shared home, WRRA members not only row but also contribute to a larger community of organizations committed to the revitalization and active use of Cleveland’s waterways.
Since 1989, WRRA has offered a variety of membership and program options aimed at developing and maintaining a diverse membership of adults of all ages, whether they are new to rowing or veteran competitors. WRRA is a member of USRowing, the governing body for the sport of rowing in the U.S.
