Discover Rowing on the Cuyahoga River
Learn to Row is a two-hour introductory session for adults (18+) who are new to rowing. Set on the scenic Cuyahoga River, this hands-on experience introduces the fundamentals of rowing and offers a pathway into Cleveland’s rowing community through WRRA’s Summer Rowing League or Veterans Rowing League.
What You’ll Learn
Participants will be guided by experienced WRRA instructors and will learn:
- Basic rowing technique using a stationary rowing machine (erg)
- Rowing terminology and proper boat handling
- River safety and navigation rules
- A 90-minute on-the-water practice in an eight-person rowing shell
- (Time on the water may vary due to river traffic—freighters have the right of way.)
Session Details
- Duration: 2 hours
- Cost: $62.50 per session
- Eligibility: Adults 18 and older
- Requirement: Only one Learn to Row session is required to join the Summer Rowing League
